MAKAN TOGETHER DONATION
June 27, 2022
Makan Together, an adaptive tableware for the visually impaired, was created by BN4102 students to help a visually impaired elderly. The elderly has lost most of his eyesight, and was heavily reliant on caregivers during mealtimes. His meals were mixed together into a big unappetising dish, due to the ease of eating. The BN4102 students saw his plight at St. Luke's Eldercare and created Makan Together to help him eat independently, and with dignity. After receiving excellent feedback from St. Luke's Eldercare staff, the students decided to secure more funding in hopes to manufacture more bowls to help more visually impaired indiviuals. They managed to secure funding, and have manufactured 1000 pieces of Makan Together. Recently, 200 bowls have been donated to St. Luke's Eldercare, and another 200 pieces was donated to Singapore Association of the Visually Impaired. bGood intends to donate more bowls locally and in the ASEAN region with aims to alleviate the struggle of the visually impaired community.
